Bio

Terence Nicholson was born in Washington, D.C., and is a longtime Anacostia resident. A graduate of the Corcoran School of Art, he was a recipient of the Rosenbaum Memorial Scholarship Award. Nicholson has exhibited regularly in the D.C. area. His 2018 solo exhibit, “Intro-Circumspective” at Willow Street Gallery, was featured in The Washington Post. He served as Curator for Honfleur Gallery and Art Director of Anacostia Arts and currently works as an Exhibit Specialist at the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden as well as the Katzen Museum of Art at American University. He is enjoying a new collaboration with 2019 MacArthur “Genius Grant” winner Mel Chin on a project to cultivate solidarity between Asian and African-American communities.
